A Bit About Me
Carline Klijnman
PhD in Philosophy
I am currently employed at the University of Cologne, in affiliation with a DFG-funded project 'Moral Obligation, Epistemology and Public Health: The Case of Vaccine Hesitancy'. I recently passed my Viva cum laude at the University of Genoa, where I conducted my PhD research into failures of testimonial exchange and its effect on epistemic democracy with a scholarship from the Northwestern Italian Philosophy Consortium (curriculum: Ethics & Politics). Prior to that, I received two MA's cum laude from the University of Utrecht (one in Philosophy and one in History).
Over the last four years, I have lived in Italy, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and Germany, but I grew up and spent most of my life in the Netherlands. My Dutchness is most noticeable in my need for planning and the fact that I am, apparently, direct and straightforward in my communication.
When I'm not working or lounging, I like to spend my time hiking, hanging out with animals (especially dogs!) and more recently weightlifting.
