A Bit About Me
Carline Klijnman
PhD in Philosophy
I obtained my PhD degree cum laude from the University of Genoa, with a scholarship from the Northwestern Italian Philosophy Consortium. My dissertation (for which I received the University of Genoa School of Humanities Doctoral Thesis Award) inquired into failures of testimonial exchange and their effects on epistemic democracy. Prior to that, I received two master's degrees cum laude from the University of Utrecht (M.A. Philosophy and M.A.History).
Over the last four years, I have lived in Italy, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and Germany, but I grew up and spent most of my life in the Netherlands. My Dutchness is most noticeable in my need for planning and the fact that I am, apparently, pretty direct and straightforward in my communication.
When I'm not working or lounging, I like to spend my time hiking, hanging out with animals (especially dogs!), doing crossfit and weightlifting.
